To kick of Montrose County Historical Museum this most spooky of holidays, the Montrose County Historical Museum is hosting a ghost tour of Montrose Downtown this Tuesday, October 30th.
Attendees will be guided through the streets of historic Montrose while being regaled with tales about the mysterious and eerie paranormal
going on that have been reported in Montrose Downtown over the years.
Tours start at the Montrose County Historical Museum (21 North Rio Grande Avenue). Tours cost $10 per person, and space is limited so call (970) 249 2085 to RSVP.
On the 31st, kids can join in on the fun by entering the third annual costume contest hosted by The Real Estate Store (500 East Main Street). Registration starts and 10am and the contest is at 11am10am- 11am where kids are invited to join in on spooky preschool stories and crafts. Stick around after for trick-or-treating in the library.
The brand new retail store Bones in Lace (305 East Main Street) is generously offering up their vintage photo booth setting for Halloween photos from 11am - 1pm. Photos will be provided by Cyllia Lynn Photography.
Ginger and Gin (647 East Main Street) will be hosting its first ever ‘Trunk or Treat’ Halloween party from 5pm - 7pm and a haunted house from 7:30pm - 10m! Cost for the haunted house is $10 and Trunk or Treating is free.
As the sun sets adults can head to the Montrose Downtown Halloween Block Party. From 7pm to 10pm on Uncomphagre Ave between Main Street and North 1st Street (outside of RnR Sports Bar - 35 North Uncomphagre Ave), this free outdoor event will feature a range of fun activities for adults. Start the party early at one of Montrose Downtown’s eateries, bars, breweries or the town’s only distillery. Hop on the Y-Bar Hitch Suffolk Punch Horses between 6pm - 10pm for a random pub crawl.
Be sure to don your best costume because at 8:30pm there will be an adult costume contest with prizes! Categories include best couple, best group, best single and most detailed.
The block party will also be screening two outdoor movies - The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Beetlejuice.” There will also be food and drink specials from RnR Sports Bar (Zombie Brains and Witch’s Brew anyone?) as well as a live DJ. It’s a party you won’t want to miss!
